Today’s square: Grannies Quilt Style Square in Square
Size: 12 inch
Pattern By: Patti Pierce Stone
Hook: H
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver Cherry Cola, Bronze and Brown
Pattern from: Ravelry
Notes: This square is VERY labor intensive. You make a square and four triangles then join them. Then you put the border around the whole thing. But overall it makes a great square I think! I didn’t like the joining method described in the pattern, so I used my standard whip style stitch that I use to join all my squares. I liked it much better. I would make this square again.

It might be a pain to put together, but I think this is my favorite so far in your series! 😉

Thanks! I think I might lean toward agreement. I have the square sitting on my desk and it keeps drawing my eye. Once I finish the two afghans I have going now, I’m considering making one using this square in various colors.

Yeah, that’s kind of what I was thinking too. The variegated in the center really plays well.

Thank you! I’m usually into brighter colors but this is really starting to grow on me.

It looks awesome! Squares that require assembly can be frustrating or time consuming, but they do often turn out lovely.

Thanks! I’ve never actually done a square that required assembly, but this whole “quilt block” concept is appealing to me. I’m going to look up more patterns with this idea.
