Ambitious Thinking

Masa Bag and Granny Coat

I kinda slacked on the crochet again today. Did some more end weaving. And pondered two more projects I want to attempt. I’ll show you those!

The first one is the Masa Bag by Lisa Risager. Again, it’s one of those things I’m drawn to because of the construction. It’s basically a long rectangle folded into a bag. I may start this one today as I have to spend about an hour waiting around for and riding a bus.

The second project hopeful depends on the success of my granny jacket. This one is a Granny Coat. It’s by the same designer, Maggie Weldon, with similar construction but uses more squares. I think I would like to make this one with solid color squares. I haven’t bought the pattern yet but I’ll do that when payday rolls around again. Then I can see how complicated it is…

So much to crochet, so few days in the year…

It is pretty, isn’t it? I almost wish I’d seen it first before the one I’m working on.

Love that bag! The coat doesn’t look too hard, but the edging is a bit wavy. I think that would bug me, other than I like it.

I did notice that wavy edge but I think I can solve that. It looks like dropping a few stitches in strategic spots would help it some. To tout my motto this year: We shall see!
