Breezy Filet

Today’s square: Breezy Filet
Size: 10 inch
Pattern By: James G. Davis
Hook: H
Yarn: TLC Essentials Dk Thyme.
Pattern from: Ravelry

Notes: A simple one from the “50 Fabulous Crochet Squares” book. My yarn was a little floppy for this kind of thing but it’s simple to make and easy to follow.

Back when this was free I happened on it and have made many of them for shawls. If you use a multicolor yarn for the center (the round part) and the rest black (or a multicolor row in there), it looks just like stained glass. I wish I could upload a picture of one I made that was 4 or 5 x 3. Each was 3 colors of blue (same colors) plus white, each in a different design. I thought it was hot stuff when I made it, but now I think it just looks like modern art. At any rate it shows the incredible versatility of this apparently very plain square, Thank you for this pattern.

It sounds beautiful!!! I’ll be revisiting this one. I’ll try it with more colors next time.
