RAK of the Week

27 Apr

Big Ball O YarnLookie at my big colorful ball of yarn!! I made an offhand comment that I wanted to try making something using a technique I saw over on the Crochetbug blog but that none of my yarn pieces and snips were really long enough. What Leslie did to catch my attention was to tie yarn ends together and crochet them into a pet mat. It had a cool, nubbly look to it when she had finished. I commented that I was tempted to cut random lengths of yarn to try this to make a hat.

Leslie saw my comment and offered to send me some of her yarn snips. She uses GREAT colors so I said sure, thinking I’d get a package of yarn bits. But no!! She sent a ball of already tied together yarn!! I love the look of the ball just the way it is. But I have begun a simple hat with it. It’s not easy to crochet the tied yarn. I’m trying to keep all the ends to one side. Once you get into the swing of it though it works out.

I’ll post the finished hat soon.

This will be one very colourful hat, love the idea of using all the bits of yarn.

Yes indeed it’s going to be colorful. But I like it already. 😀
