And We Have Another Bag

08 Jul

Purple Inga Bag

Today’s Project: Inga’s Hakelbeutel
Size: 7 x 10 inch
Pattern By: Inga Joana Mertens
Hook: H
Yarn: RHSS Lilac, Amethyst
Pattern from: Ravelry

Notes: Finished yet another bag–my fourth one of this pattern. I use 18 squares instead of 16 to make a single strap bag. Also this time I crocheted the strap right onto the bag instead of making it separately and attaching it. I like it.

Yip, love it too. I like the darker purple on the edges of the strap. Maybe I’ll have to try one of these myself…. 🙂

At first I was going to use a teal border, then this little knot of dark purple fell out of my bag like some sort of crochet sign and I used it instead. 😀

Do you have a photo of how the single handle attaches? I can’t visualize it. Thank. I want to make this bag.

I added a photo to the post. I basically joined with a slip stitch to the right of the corner of the square. I chained a number that looked like a good handle size and connected to the opposite square with an SC and did SC all the way back across. I did an SC in the corner of the square, worked back to the other square, SC in the corner there, came back. So I have one row of SC on either side of the corner in the square, and two rows in the corner. Then I added the second color all around the top which added two additional rows, making a nice sized handle.
