Pretty Peppers on Paper Plate

14 Dec

Pretty PeppersSometimes I splurge on a food item. Not often, and usually it’s candy. But as I wandered the produce aisle these caught my eye. I admit, I splurged the three bucks on them because they were pretty. I don’t regret it. No buyer’s remorse here! They are incredibly sweet (though they look like hot peppers) and crispy with very few seeds or veins. I wish there were more red ones!

I’m making one of my crockpot meatball soup concoctions and the sauce is white. I chopped up three of these babies and threw them in. The soup looks more cheerful now.

They look gorgeous, and tasty, and I’m sure were a great addition to the soup. But I still would have splurged on candy before peppers….

LOL. I do that!!! My husband eats fried chilies like they are going out of fashion and he bought some this week which were a beautiful combination of golds, greens, reds. I loved the way they looked and was actually thinking of painting them…except that I have no paints yet!!!
