Tiny Treat Bowl

tiny pumpkin bowlToday’s Project: Crochet Pumpkin Treat Bowl
Size: 3 x 3
Pattern By: Meredith Crawford
Hook: H
Yarn: RHSS in pumpkin, hunter green
Pattern from: Ravelry

Notes: This cute little bowl was the October CAL in the Red Heart Group on Ravelry. It only took a couple of hours to make (at a leisurely pace, probably the only pace I have these days). It’s very tiny so it wouldn’t hold many treats but I think it’d be great filled with Hershey’s Kisses. I modified the lid just a tad by adding one extra decrease round, and one extra finishing round. For the stem I just did two rows of SC and attached it in some odd, convoluted manner that seemed like a good idea at the time.

Zombie Candy Corn

zombie candy corn

Today’s Project: Candy Corn
Size: 5 inch
Pattern By: Sahrit Freud-Weinstein
Hook: H
Yarn: Mystery worsted acrylic in yellow, orange, off white, brown.
Pattern from: Ravelry

Notes: This pattern was actually for a candy corn bunting. I’m not a bunting kinda gal, so I made a single candy corn with a loop to hang it up! It’s double sided so it has a lot of potential. In worsted weight it’s very thick. If it were made in cotton it could be a wacky hot pad. Or it could be stuffed like an amigurumi.

Day 34: By the Power of Granny Skull

Granny Skull

Today’s Pattern: Granny Square Scarf
Size: 6.5 inch x 6 inch
Pattern By: AngierAnne
Hook: H
Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver Black and White
Pattern from: Ravelry

Notes: I ran across the above project page for a skull motif to make a scarf. I have no projects that this fits with, and I’m not sure it’s approprate for donation! 😀 But it made me smile so I had to make it.

If I were to make it again, I might try squaring it up a bit more by alternating some HDCs on the top half for the first round of granny clusters. If you wanted a skull themed throw, it might be interesting to make the backgrounds alternating colors like red and purple then join them with rows of black.
